Lizards (2-0) We started the season well against the Reds, with the two wins.
The pitching was fantastic to start the year but I saw some room for improvement in a few areas.
    1.      Most notable is watching for signs. Any base runners, in addition to the batter, need to know the signs so that everyone on our team knows what is happening.
If there is a bunt sign then base runners must know to be cautious and look for a pop up or otherwise bad bunt.
EVERYONE MUST BE AWARE OF THE SIGNS!!!

    2.      Two hands on fly balls and pop ups. Most of us think we are good enough to not need two hands, that is, until we drop one and look foolish.
Lets prevent that from ever happening! Be sure to make the catch, TWO HANDS!!

    3.      Infielders; if you have no play dont make the errant throw to first. Use your best judgment but EAT THE BALL if you have to.
Remember, on the overthrow they get second base, no force.
If you have to eat the ball then they get first but at least we still have a force play at second.

  4.      Get to the games early! I know its early in the morning but you cant get warmed up and ready to play in 5 minutes.
Lets try to get ourselves in a routine of showing up at 8:30am latest!

Thats all for the Lizards for now! See you guys Sunday (8:30am)!!!

Thunder (5-0) Anemic Hitting!!! Excluding last Wednesdays game against The Peoples Team where we finally brought the bats to life,
we need to hit more consistently.
I do understand the weather has not helped with the 40 some odd degree temps but as the weather gets warmer our bats must as well.
Defense has definitely been our strength but in order to continue winning throughout the season we need at least 17-20 hits a game.
Maybe then we can win some that arent always nailbiters. Its only May and our fans have no nails left!!!

More updates to follow after Sundays (5/16) and Tuesdays (5/18) games. See you guys on Sunday afternoon!!!
